Every now and then you need something to reinvigorate you and remind you of your passions. If you’re reading this, there’s a good chance that for you (like me), it’s travel.
I’m writing to you from the quiet hillside of Ella, in central Sri Lanka. Everywhere I look there are rolling green hills and tea plantations. Life here is slow and easy. Most everyone comes here to hike famous Ella Rock, a tough 4-hour climb, which I tackled yesterday. What a huge feeling of accomplishment to make it to the top, especially as there were spiders and cobras in the tall grass I had to walk through!
Nothing lights up my soul quite like traveling.
Without the distractions of my daily life in New York, I’m living life the way I want to again. I’m writing, almost daily. I’m waking up each morning around 6 a.m. and catching the sunrise with a cup of coffee. I’m slowing down and enjoying every meal.
It’s like hitting the reset button on my life.
That’s why I’m so excited for our next Damesly adventure: Iceland.
There are few countries that take my breath away quite like Iceland. I first visited on a whim—I found a ticket for less than $200 leaving the next morning, so I packed my bags and ran—and I’m excited to get further into the country with an expert who routinely leads tours there for National Geographic.
Over the course of our 6-day adventure we’ll be getting off the beaten path to camp, hike, and of course, soak in their famous hot springs—all while working on photography and videography with Claire Bangser, a professional photographer. I’m beyond excited to learn from Claire– she’s so incredibly talented and also a fantastic person.
You’ll also get to meet and connect with some other awesomely creative and talented ladies, like Aly, who made this adorable graphic:
It will be a week for the books, that’s for sure!
Right now the adventure costs only $2800, but that will likely increase in the coming months, so grab your seat now.
Every now and then we need something to reinvigorate and re-inspire us. This is it.
Will you be there?
